What to Expect Working With Me

Vibes: If you know me, you know I bring the energy. I’m genuinely excited for you and your day. I struggle to stay too long in the serious. Jokes will be made at all times. I love to bring laughs, and smiles to everything I do to keep things fun and relaxed. You can expect genuine enthusiasm and good vibes from the getting ready, right to the dance.

Side Quests & Obsession: I notice the little things like stray hairs, clothing tags, awkward hands, or small distractions that you shouldn't worry about on the day, but you know will bother you later. I’m not afraid to step in when needed so everything looks the way it should! Also, I love random details, trees swaying in the wind, ducks waddling, kids dancing to no music, so expect to find me filming "b-roll" all over the place.

Go with the flow: Plans shift and that’s okay. If a timeline changes or you want to try a different location or idea in the moment, I’m happy to roll with it and make it work. Some of the best shots come from unplanned moments and weirdly they kind of excite me as a new challenge! 

Over-sharer : Unfortunately, I am very bad at hiding my thoughts. I will tell you exactly what I'm thinking - no need to decipher if I'm trying to upsell you on something you don't need. You’ll always know what to expect; from timelines to delivery. I keep things straightforward, respond promptly, and follow through on what I promise. Have a question, an idea, a worry? Email, text, ask away! 

Overly Excited: You will hear me gasp and squeal from excitement over a great shot. After your wedding, a 30 sec sneak peak will be delivered within 24hrs, and your highlight film within 1-4 weeks! No need to wait months. I'm too excited to edit, and you want your film; let's get it done!

About the Process

  • Reach out with any questions or even just to get a vibe check - It's important to like the person that will be following you around all day. And if I may say, I'm pretty fun to have around! 

  • Ready to book? I will send you a Proposal & Contract as well as a Questionnaire (locations, schedule, etc.) and require a 20% deposit.

  • Feel free to send me any ideas or inspo that you love (usually through Instagram is easiest). 

    If you are up for it, let’s go for coffee, cake, or cocktails! We can get to know each other and plan out the vision!

    • I will reach out to you to confirm schedules and any other required details.

    • I will reach out to your photographer to make sure we're on the same page so we can work together seamlessly.

  • I will arrive a bit early to set up my gear, then I'm onto you! I will capture all the fun candid moments as well as detail shots. Normally, I don't require too much more additional poses than the photographer, just a few more dynamic ones (walking, dancing, etc.), which honestly look great for the photographers too! Depending on the style of film you want, I may direct a few more quick shots or ask a few questions on camera. Otherwise, I will be just floating around, making jokes, smiling at all the love, capturing the day as it is.

    • A Sneak Peek within 48hrs

    • 2-4 weeks later, your trailer will be ready! No waiting months and months for your film. In the meantime, I will post little snippets from the day on Insta.

    • 30+ days: if you ordered a longer edit, those generally take a bit longer to edit (around a month or so depending on the ol schedule)

  • I like to focus on candid moment films that reflect how the day actually felt. I try my best to work unobtrusively, capture real moments as they happen, and avoid super serious posing. The goal is a film that feels personal, nostalgic, and has genuine emotion. Think professional home video. Check out my Style page and Instagram for more info and examples. 

  • No, then yes a bit, then back to no.... Super clear, hey? hah! Let me explain: everything I shoot is candid, except for the portraits. During the portraits, I will use many of the photographers poses because there would never be enough time (or energy) for 2 entirely different shoots. If there is time or based on your priorities, I will give explicit guidance for some extra shots (normally more dynamic/moving ones or some silly moves to use as transitions), then I am right back to capturing candids for the rest of the day. No need to worry about me bossing you around or an overwhelming feeling of having multiple media people competing or taking up your day. Ideally, I'm just there an extra hype person that coincidentally is also capturing all love! 

  • Final films typically range from 2-5 minutes, depending on the day and the package you choose. I focus on quality shots and pacing rather than length for its own sake. If you would like an extended highlight with longer moments from your vows or speeches, we can do that too!

  • Yes and no.. I record snippets anywhere from 10-60 seconds throughout the entire day. The idea isn’t to rewatch the entire 12hr day, rather, the highlights.

  • Most couples book 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak summer dates. If your wedding is sooner, feel free to reach out to check availability. I've been booked the week before and it ended up being one of my favourite weddings! 

  • Absolutely! I work collaboratively and respectfully with photographers to ensure both of us can do our best work without getting in each other’s way. I actually worked many years as a wedding photographer assistant so sometime I catch my old habits coming out and I even start offering to carry their bags/lenses/etc.

  • Efficiency is my style! I love to obsess over things, so after your wedding I will most likely be working on your edit that night! I intentionally only book around 5 weddings a summer, so that I can dedicate time to completing projects quickly... Normally by the next week! That said, sometimes multiple weddings are scheduled close together, so to keep things safe, I say 2-4 weeks.

  • Of course! Would it be Sask if I didn’t embark on a long road trip?

    Travel fees may apply depending on location. Generally approx. $0.75/km outside of Saskatoon area. 

  • Yes. I use professional audio equipment and do everything I reasonably can to capture clear sound during the ceremony and speeches. That said, audio quality can depend on things like venue rules, placement restrictions, wind, clothes, and the overall environment, so I can’t/don't guarantee perfect audio in every situation. The beauty with a highlight film is that normally audio is only used in small snippets. 

  • Depending on the package you choose, most likely, yes! If the package you’re wanting doesn’t already include it, you can easily add it on too.

  • Minor revisions are included, ie, did I mistakenly include a shot of your sister's boyfriend that is possibly on his way out... or your aunt's laugh that bothers you every time you hear it? Do you absolutely hate what you are doing with your hands in one of the shots? Trust me, I get it. Let me know and I will swap it out for another clip.

    Major restructuring is not typically included, as the film reflects a creative editorial process and the editing process takes normally 8+ hours per 3 minute film. If there are any issues though, let me know, I want you to be happy! :)

  • Raw footage is not included by default. It can be added as an optional add-on. That said, please note that I record in 5-30 second clips and shoot in S-LOG3 (a dynamic range format that looks very dull when unedited- similar to RAW vs JPEG photographs). You will need to know how to colour grade or hire someone who can. I can give recommendations if you would like. 

  • Not at all! Most couples feel this way. My approach is low-pressure and natural, so you don’t need to perform or act for the camera.

    Also, I find that video is often more forgiving because it's not a moment frozen in time, rather, your natural reactions which create sincere moments. 

    And lastly, I want you to look good! I will only pick the best moments for the highlight film. Don’t like a clip? Let’s swap it out!

  • That’s perfectly fine! Not every story is loud or dramatic. Quiet, sincere moments often make the most meaningful films. 

    I know I can get very excited, but I do truly love a quiet, intimate wedding as well. Give me all the love!
